Friday

Everyone meets at university concourse (front of susu building) for 5.00. Please bring with you the price of the meet in cash so we can collect all payment beforehand. If you do not have cash you can bank transfer. Also bring the things you will be taking with you.

We’ll load everyone onto buses and cars. You will be allocated to a vehicle which you will remain in for the rest of the trip. We will attempt to leave for the trip at 5.30pm. On the way we stop at winchester Tesco for you to buy yourself dinner. We then continue till we arrive at Dronfield Scout hut where we will be sleeping for the weekend.

 

Saturday

We get up early and have porridge for breakfast. You will also make yourself a sandwich for lunch. After this we clear out and have a day of climbing in the peaks where you will be taught trad climbing. When we get back dinner will be cooked and served and socialising will take place!

 

Sunday

In the morning you will have porridge and make lunch for the day again. Everyone will help in tidying the hut and we will leave the hut for the last time. During the day we’ll do more climbing and then go home in the early evening. On the way we’ll stop off at a service station for dinner. We will drop you all off to your respective places as we will arrive in Southampton late.

Can you bring a suitcase?

No

 

How many bags should you bring?

Ideally two. One for the day and another to bring all you sleeping and things you will keep in the hut. Only bring as much as you can carry

 

What if a personal problem arises during the trip?

Please talk to the meet secs (Selina and Tom). We will try try our hardest to accommodate you and solve any problems (I promise we’re all really nice)

 

What happens if I don’t have equipment?

The club has a hefty amount of gear it can provide for everyone. If you do have any of your own stuff please do bring but anything you don’t have we can provide. Please let us know when we meet if you need items like sleeping bags or roll mats 

 

What if the weather is bad?

We always have a rainy day activity planned. Bring some extra money as in the peaks this means gear shopping !! (and a walk)

 

What if I have dietary requirements?

If you have dietary requirements we will try and cater for them all. Please ensure they are written down in your medical info section so we can see them
