Remote Outdoor First Aid Course 2026

This is a 2-day course which gives participants with any level of experience the knowlege to assess and attend to a casualty in an environment where external help may be hours away. It is run by an external company who we've used for multiple years now, and the instructor is incredibly knowledgeable and tailors the course to situations we may face as climbers.

The course is approved by the Mountain Training Assosciation (MTA) and International Mountain Leader, and it meets the requirements for qualifications including: Climbing Wall Instructor, Rock Climbing Instructor, Hill and Moorland Leader and Mountain Leader.

We are offering the course at £85pp in order to make it as accessible as possible. Normally, it would cost upwards of £200, before you took travel into account - this one is being held on Avenue campus.

The course will run 8:30-17:00 each day (TBC), and attendance for the whole course is mandatory. There are 10 spaces, so hopefully we'll soon have 10 new first-aiders in the club
